| 1. | After fasting forty days and forty nights , he was hungry

| 8. | I lay prostrate before the lord those forty days and forty nights because the lord had said he would destroy you
25我因耶和华说要灭绝你们、就在耶和华面前照旧俯伏四十昼夜。 |
| 9. | And at the end of forty days and forty nights , jehovah gave me the two tablets of stone , the tablets of the covenant
11过了四十昼四十夜，耶和华把那两块石版，就是约版，交给我。 |
| 10. | Thus i fell down before the lord forty days and forty nights , as i fell down at the first ; because the lord had said he would destroy you
